We’re Growing! LabShares Newton Expands Office Space Due to Increased Member Demand

New Office Space Available Immediately for the Scientific Community-at-Large

LabShares Newton is excited to announce that we have recently completed an expansion of our office space, adding an additional 3,400 square feet to support the business needs of our members. Our lab has remained operational as an essential business during the coronavirus pandemic, with office staff working from home. With offices now carefully re-opening, we can offer members additional office space to enable social distancing and a less dense working environment.

With this second expansion, LabShares now offers members over 15,000 feet of lab and office space. The first expansion, a doubling of lab and office space, was announced in March 2019. The newly expanded space features six private offices, one conference room, and an open office area with shared seating and a kitchenette. Member services, which include administrative support, shipping and receiving, a fully stocked kitchen, and other office park amenities, are all included in a single monthly fee.

The expansion, located at 57 Chapel Street, shares a parking lot with LabShares’ primary lab facility at 90 Bridge Street in Newton, Massachusetts. Both buildings are part of the Chapel Bridge Park office park located in the Nonantum section of Newton along the Charles River, about 15 minutes from Cambridge and Boston.

In tandem with this expansion, we have been working diligently to put in place strong safety standards to enable our members to remain productive and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. In early March, we asked our members to work from home whenever possible and to only come in for essential lab work. PPE is now in use including the required wearing of masks in all open spaces. In-person meetings were temporarily halted and we now have put in place plexiglass and Lexan shields between our open office desks and benches.

We have complied with current CDC, Massachusetts and federal guidelines on our reopening plan including routine disinfection three times per day, a limit on the number of people inside the building at any one time, and attendance tracking/sign-in lists to facilitate contact tracing if needed.

In-person tours are now strictly limited, but that has not stopped our business from growing – we have recently added 5 new members and are close to being fully occupied. A virtual tour of our space was recently filmed and can be viewed on the LabShares website, as well as a full list of our COVID-19 response measures at www.labshares.com/covid. We’re looking forward to opening our new office space, and to a time where we can welcome our community fully back to work at LabShares.

Please contact info@labshares.com if you would like additional information or a virtual tour of LabShares.
